Chiffon Flowers

So my sister Bethany came up with the idea of making Chiffon Flowers for the bridesmaid dresses, as well as the little girl sashes and little flowers for the little girls hair. I thought it sounded great! So we got the stuff and began the process.

It was a lot of fun! So what you do is make circles in increasing width. And then with a candle you burn the sides (that how it looks like a flower) then you put them together by sewing the middle with a cute pearl or what ever you want in the middle.

For the first flower I made, I made sure to cut the circles perfect! By the end they didn't look like circles at all, and looked just as good. It was fun! After we made all the yellow and white color ones, Beth and I decided that we were going to make green ones to go in the matrons hair! I was already thinking of putting something in the matrons hair, but I couldn't think of what to put in it. Real flowers, fake flowers, so chiffon flowers will work great in their hair! So now all I have to do is make them!

Infamous 4X6 Envelopes

Has anyone tried looking for 4x6 envelopes. Well I'm going to tell you its hard. I went to all the places that I could think of to get them. Target, Walmart, the Office supply store near my house. And nothing. I even went to the dollar store, and had no luck. So I went to the internet. And DANG! They were pricey little bugs. What was gross was that the envelopes would cost more then the invitations! WHAT!? I was not going to pay for an envelope that cost more then my invitation.

John and I decided, that instead of going with the normal 5x7 for the invite, we would go 4x6. This was because we decided to print them out at Costco. One 4x6 was $0.13 where if we went with a 5x7 it would be $0.46, so John and I decided that we would only print three 5x7 and those people are mommy Miller mommy Fisher and us. Those are the people we new would probably frame them, everyone else will throw them in the trash.
You might be able to see it very well but..... that is the invitation!! YAY! They are all printed, now John and I just need to send them out. Well once we find some envelopes. And for some reason my mom says I can't send them as a post card....weird. Why wont she let me do that?? ;)

Anyways...That's when I came up with a brilliant plan!! I'm going to go to Walmart or Target or Big Lots and go to the clearance section and look for thank you cards. And then we're going to buy them just for the envelopes. We'll see what happens. I hope that by doing it that way it will be cheaper. But we'll see...

And We're Walking!

On October 9,2010 John and I went on a little hike! We went up to Timpanogos Cave! I haven't been there sense I was a kid, and when my sister and her family invited us we decided it would be fun to go. The day was already a bit chilly out, but we went on the hike anyways and John was awesome enough to forget a jacket. He for some strange reason decided that he didn't need too, becuase while hiking he'll have enough body heat to keep him warm. And although that's true it was already a chilly day to begin with so it was extra chilly in the canyon. So we ended up buying him a jacket so he wouldn't freeze to death. Doesn't he look great!! Its a pretty soft jacket, so I'm happy with the purchase. But with how much it cost it had better been on soft jacket! :)

John was very good at putting up with me. I'm one of those people who love taking pictures! I love capturing memories! One day my kids will be very annoyed but they'll thank me one day!

While we where hiking Nathaniel my sisters kid, was getting really tired. And her husband Jason had already been carrying him and it was their daughter Alex's turn so John being the coolest and best person ever offered to help. Making the hike more difficult for himself, but he was helping so all was good in the world! And here is a cute picture of him with Nathaniel on his shoulders! I love this picture! I love the rock wall and the leaves it just sets the mood for the picture that is beautiful!

I think the picture will be even more precious when the little boy on his shoulder is ours. OUR'S, that's exciting to say! :)

Overall the hike was really fun! It wasn't as steep as I remembered as a child, and that made me happy. I wasn't able to get as many pictures as I wanted becuase John had a time crunch. He needed to be at work at 7:30, so If we stopped everytime that I wanted to stop he would have been very late. So I only got around 300 pictures, :) haha ONLY. haha But I was still able to get some dang good pictures. Or at least fun ones that I like!
We hik-ed. Yes... very yes. Mmmm. It was tasty... She got me dinner. I'm thinking about food. Maybe I am hungry. I want those cookies. Those cookies with the chocolate, and the mint, and the yumminess. There are no more. I am sad. This is my sad face: :( The sad face is because there are no more cookies. I feel like I'm talking like someone from sesame street. That was one useless paragraph. Write another and I will count it. Guess who that is? That's right, Count Dracula, from Sesame Street. Why did they change the Cookie Monster? First Pluto, now the Cookie Monster... What happened to the Good 'ol Days? That doesn't need to be capitalized. But it is anyway. ... ... Ok, back to Eva.

And thats what happens when you try and get your fiance' almost husband, to help or feel apart of the blog.....hmmmm at least we'll find out if people actually read it! :) John I think liked the cave the best. He talked to the Park Ranger Person a lot about the caves, he asked a lot of questions. BTW the the Rangers name was Ranger John, John thought that was cool. He learned about caramel falls. Caramel falls is what happend with there was a shift in the fault lines. I don't think it would taste good though. And you're not allowed to touch the cave walls so I wasn't able to find out.

Well now John and I are going to play capture the flag, so he wants me to finish up! So till next time! We're the Fishers on The Net!!!! Woot! Woot!

Flowers

The wedding! So far we've done very well at planning the wedding. Or at least we've had fun trying to keep it in-expensive. The most recent fun has been the flowers! Instead of the white calla lilies they are going to be yellow! Or a dark purple. I want the atmosphere to be romantic and dark red and dark purple always come to mind when I think romantic. Sense red isn't one of my colors, purple will work. But I still haven't decided, I've always been a fan of yellow!

What I love is that by submerging the flowers I wont need to buy as many of them. And it will give the romantic feel I want with a modern touch! :)

I will also have orchids as my flowers as well. But they will be submerged in smaller vases. I might have a couple of the smaller vases next to the larger vases, so I can have my colors can be better integrated into the reception.

There are no Endings in a Real Love Story

December 21, 2010, feels pretty far but at the same time pretty close. So much stuff needs to be done. And because I wanted John and I to a have a blog, what better way to start but at the beginning.

The love Story.....

John just got back from his mission, and was visiting a mutual friend of ours named Lindsey Boyce now Lindsey Lewis. While he was visiting her I came in. (Her and I were roommates) I orgininaly was going to go strait to bed, but after seeing him, I decided not to. Who knew that, that decision would be the best decision I ever made!

After he left the APT, he went onto Gmail chat and started talking to Lindsey, hoping that she would let me talk to him. (I was hoping the same thing). That night we ended up talking on Gmail chat and scheduled our first date. (I think its fun that we will always have our first real conversation documented, I often read it and make fun of it, its really funny, And I can't believe I said some things...I'm such a dork)

Anyways...I was a half hour late to the date. I don't remember being late, but John says I was. We went on a hike to the "Y" and he serenaded me with his ukulele! :) He even had me put a flower in my hair. It was real cute. He didn't know the song he was singing, he was making up the tune, but I knew the tune, SO after he was finished I sang him the song, and I'm pretty sure I danced the dance that went with the song...(i can't believe i did that either...I'm such a nerd) (John fell in love with me, so I did something right)

While we were on the "Y" the view looked out to the city and to the Provo Temple. So naturally we talked about church and our goals in life. Everything just felt natural to be with each other. It was really nice. But it felt too natural...And it scared me to death!!

After a bit of dating and he being perfect, I had to do something! So like any women who was scared of getting married. I blocked him from my life. Literally! hahah my goodness. Blocked him from my phone, face book, and Gmail. hahaha poor guy. I knew that if I continued dating him it would lead to marriage and I was scared.

Luckily, I had Africa to forget about him...and fortunately I didn't! :) But I was still scared. And Luckily John never could forget about me, every time he would think, "Hey that girl's cute, I should ask her out..." I apparently would e-mail him, or somebody would say somthing that would remind him of me. But a guy can only handle so much, in order to forget about me, he had to delete me from his life too. But that didn't last too long...

A couple months after Africa we went to dinner together. I was going because he was the last person I remember being truly happy with, and John went in hopes of finding out I wasn't as amazing as he thought I was. The dinner went great! He looked SO good! And conversation just flowed! It was great and I loved seeing him! After our dinner that didn't end till around 1:00am He was all ready to start our relationship again, but I was still scared. I unblocked him from my life, and stayed in contact, but just at a distance. He asked me on a date...which I accidentally missed...(and I had to put that part in because I'm the only girl who has stood him up on a date. My bad. I had completely forgot about it). And I guess its part of our story.

Then the best thing happened. Our mutual friend Lindsey got engaged. I love her to death, so I had to be there. Naturally John came into my head. Lindsey and John have been friends forever, and of course he would be at the wedding. So I contacted him. I was hoping he would be driving up and we could split the gas money. Unfortunetly for my wallet he was already in Oregon.

That summer we began to chat back and forth. John was being really careful of what he said, because he wanted our talking to continue. In the end Stephanie (my friend and friend to Lindsey) and I ended up sleeping at Johns house.

I was so excited to see him! And I was secretly hoping that he still liked me. But I knew he would be hesitant to start anything, so I also went hoping that he didn't hate me. When I saw him, my stomach started flipping! He was such a gentlemen! And I loved the way he treated his mom. While I was in Oregon we flirted a bit when he asked me if I wanted to start things back up. I wanted to, but I didn't want to hurt him. I didn't want to get back with him unless I knew that it was all going to work out. So I prayed. And I'd never felt so much peace in my life. So as I was getting into my car for Utah, John asked me one last time if I "Would think about it" and I said,"I already have" I then smiled and got in my car.

John thought that we would start dating and he would have to be really careful with everything he did and said, so he wouldn't scare me off. But what ended up happening was I scared him, he never expected that I would want to be with him as much as he wanted to be with me. Shortly after getting back from Oregon, John asked me to marry him, and I said yes! I wasn't scared anymore, and John was thankful! :) I'm just thankful that he never forgot about me. Most of all I'm thankful that our story will never end!
